football games louder this year?

Am I getting old, or has Tufts turned up the volume on their football announcers this year?
We're fairly near the field, but do have houses between it and us. It seems like this fall there's a vague football game background noise I can still hear inside our house and I don't think I remember noticing that before...

I meant the cranky and irritable bit. "you kids keep it quiet down there" and all that.

i wonder if it would be possible to devise an announcer-canceling device -- a thing that would broadcasts some noise that garbles the announcer noise you hear into soothing white noise...

Don't get rid of those games, though. I noticed Somerville PD ticketing cars up and down College Ave. Never seen them do that before.

I drove by earlier and I felt like the announcer was super loud as I could hear it in my car with my window open a crack and the radio on.

I had the same thought. I live on Liberty and don't remember it being quite so noticeable last year.

This page (http://ase.tufts.edu/athletics/directory.htm) has contact info for the Tufts athletic dept. Maybe give them a call and ask what's up? They may have no idea that their system this year is bothering neighbors.
