It is estimated that 5 x 1030 bacteria live on Earth.
Scaling by square area, the City of Somerville is 4.2mi2, while the area of the Earth is 510,072,000km2.
By my calculations, there are an estimated 106,631,515,374,300,098,809,579 bacteria in the City of Somerville; a number so large that all other flora and fauna are insignificant.
and to put that number in perspective, scientists once estimated that there are 7,500,000,000,000,000,000 grains of sand on all the beaches on Earth. Or, there are over 14,000 times the number of bacteria living in Somerville than there are grains of sand on all the beaches on Earth.
My own bacteria don't always even agree. I imagine that all the other bacteria in Somerville are even more diverse than the ones in Turil when it comes to political opinions.
And remember, even the human body is made up of more than 10,000 other living things (mostly bacteria) which we'd die without! Most of them tend to vote with us, though.
My cat actually wants a complete curtailment of all social activities in the city. Things like fireworks displays and Artbeat and stuff of that nature means that I leave the damn house. He does not like it when I leave the house. Leaving the house is not something his person Should Do.
So whomever completely destroys all public social activities will get big points with the polling district of Thespian's cat.
Are you sure? Doesn't he like to have a little party time while the landlord is gone? Scratching the furniture, chewing on your plants, and jumping up on the counters and such is so much easier when you're not there...
nope. This cat...has some issues. I had a gentleman up from New Jersey a year ago who stayed.....in my bed, and the resentment was palpable. If he was bigger than me it would totally be IT PUTS THE LOTION IN THE BASKET.
