Joe Curtatone, while winning the election for mayor, was voted in by less than 8% of Somerville's human population.

What matters when it comes to elections is three things:

who is eligible to register
who is registered
who votes.

Those who don't make it through the first hurdle are excluded by law.
Don't like the law, work on getting it changed.

Those who pass the first hurdle, but not the second, have shown they do not care enough to make an effort to have some influence in how they are ruled, therefore, should STFU about politicians doing things they don't like.
Those who pass the first two hurdles, but not the third, are in the same boat as those who only clear the first hurdle, ie, STFU.

OH GOD PLEASE SOMEONE CAMPAIGN FOR 'VOTES FOR BIRDS' because nothing would ever be as hilarious as that, ever.

First we have to lower the voting age, cause that whole "18 years" thing is tough for many of the smaller birds to reach.
