My husband is looking for recommendations for a place to get a haircut.
He has curly hair (medium curly) that he is interested in keeping not super short, with some sort of nice shape.
He is specifically looking for someone who knows what they are doing with curly hair, and can do more than just the basic supercuts-style short clipper cut.
Not too expensive would be great.
Any recommendations from people with similar hair needs?

ETA: Thanks for the suggestions everyone! We'll definitely check these out. Further thoughts/recommendations obviously still welcome.

My hair isn't curly but I have nothing but good things to say about Annmarie's on holland street.

I'm a big fan of Annmarie's as well... I don't have curly hair myself, but seriously: If you're looking for a basic barbershop you can't go wrong there. I've gotten worse clips at places twice as expensive.

I had a friend like this who liked Mario at Mario's. Is it still around?

Yes. I had good experiences with Pepe at Mario's as well.
I have seen good experiences with Umberto at Salon CU in Ball Square.

I go to Karen at La Flamme in Harvard, though I've also had Steve at La Flamme in Harvard and both are good. La Flamme is a Barber Shop and has Barbers as opposed to a Salon which has hairdressers.

I have curly hair that is very curly with a tendency to frizz, just for reference.

The two dudes at Salon CU in Ball Sq both have curly-ish hair, so they score some empathy/experience points there I think.

Grace Salon in Union is really good. My husband and I both get our hair cut there.

For curly hair, I recommend Dana at Salon M near Porter.

I've had nothing but great experiences at Salon CU in Ball Square.

I've also seen Dana at M Salon, and had both excellent haircuts and abysmal wrecks depending on his mood.

Did a super job on my boyfriend's curly hair. Not sure of the price, but I liked to cut.

Wow, that is the first time EVER I've seen a positive curly-hair review from Judy Jetson's. I used to go there til I learned I could get better treatment for my my wavy hair elsewhere. Which one is Ace?

I'd reccomend Benny's on Highland Avenue, near Lowell Street. My husband goes there & Benny does a great job.
