At the Medical Reserve Corps meeting tonight the health department team announced a flu vaccination clinic tomorrow (Dec 17) at the City Hall Annex on 50 Evergreen Avenue, Somerville, MA 02143.
They will offer seasonal and H1N1 vaccinations. You can get both at the same session. They just got approval to open it up beyond the risk groups today, everyone can get it now, and it came too late to get it on the city web site.

Date: 2009-12-17 03:18 am (UTC)Welcome!
Date: 2009-12-17 03:23 am (UTC)I got mine tonight at the training session. I got the Flu Mist for the first time. Figured I'd try that to see what it was like. Rather nice not to get a shot, I could get used to that.

Date: 2009-12-17 04:30 am (UTC)No real point to this comment except to grouse about the City's crap-ass web site (and wonder why 311 was so clueless today).
This will be my third try at a flu shot and I plan to arrive on the early side of on time. Hopefully I'll get taken care of before they run out.

Date: 2009-12-17 04:43 am (UTC)But it sounded like approval to open it up really came at the end of the day. I was just reading an article in the Globe about it, and they were saying it may be opened up:
http://www.boston.com/news/health/articles/2009/12/16/abruptly_a_surplus_of_shots_for_h1n1/
Just a timing problem, I think.

Date: 2009-12-17 04:29 pm (UTC)I'm a former Somerville resident who cares for young kids under 6 months of age. I've been trying and failing to get vaccinated at other clinics due to long lines and supplies.
I could really use this.
