In support of my New Years resolution to eat better, does anyone know of a nutritionist that they know and love? I need someone who can help plan meals working with my unique set of constraints (such as there are not a lot of vegetables that I like and I don't like to cook).

Near Davis would be nice but I'll take anyone within reasonable driving/parking or T accessible.

Thanks!

I worked with someone at Cambridge Hospital whom I liked and found effective for my purposes (for me, reasonable weight gain during/loss after pregnancy). I can totally not remember her last name, but her first name was Voula (short, I think, for Stavroula?). Specifically she's in the Women's Health center (http://www.cha.harvard.edu/locations/cam_women_health.shtml ), so I imagine they know where to find her. Ummm, from your username maybe you're male, but I expect she talks to men too.

If you're looking for advice on nutrition and want a simple way to be healthier, look no further than the green smoothie! Any nutritionist worth their fee will agree that drinking a smoothie made with about half fresh or frozen fruit and half dark green leafy veggies every morning (first thing you eat) is a great option. The sweetness of the fruit balances out the bitterness of the greens, and it tastes quite yummy. Plus, the more greens you eat, the more your body will (re)learn to love them.

It's pretty easy to make a smoothie in the morning, and even if that's the only thing you do all day, it's packing a huge amount of nutrients and fiber into your body, which will help counteract any less-than-ideal food you eat later on in the day. And it gives you a super healthy energy boost to start your day. And maybe you'll end up as sexy as this guy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06VJns4NEc0).

I second Voula! I had gestational diabetes and also worked with Voula (whose last name I also cannot recall) when I was pregnant. I'm a total foodie, so our situations are not terribly analogous, but she was patient, kind, and supportive.

She was willing to entertain my odd questions and to look up the answers when she didn't know them. (In any medical professional, I find a willingness to admit ignorance to be a wondrous and marvelous thing.)

In my experience with nutritionists, I imagine that whoever you'll talk to will say "learn to cook and don't be so picky" ;)
