Hey, Davis Square

I'm probably grasping at straws here, but just in case  -

On Friday, UPS allegedly dropped off a package in front of my house on Highland ave, near the corner of Willow and Highland, at 9:57 am.  They didn't bother to ring the doorbell.  The package is now missing.  All that was in it was my great grandmother's mandoline (the musical instrument, not the cooking implement).  It has very little monetary value, but great sentimental value, and I am hoping that it will turn up somewhere.  If you have any information that might lead to its recovery, or if you found it and would like to return it, no questions asked, please comment or send me a message at my lj name at gmail.com  Thank you.

ETA - Package appeared on my porch yesterday, none the worse for wear!  The UPS driver rang the bell this morning to deliver another package, and was sort of adorably flustered when I told him that it had come yesterday (he kept saying "Oh man, that's awesome!).  He had pretty clearly been upset that it went missing, and had been in contact with the powers that be.  He had an assistant that day, and thinks that person may have mis-delivered it.  So thanks, mystery good samaritan!  And thanks to DSLJ for the mixture of great advice and sympathy :)

You might also check the corresponding address on Highland St.
They sometimes deliver one street over or get street names confused.

Also try Highland Road

It intersects with Kidder. . .

I live near Kidder and I swear our UPS driver has been shady lately. Twice I've been tracking packages online that show up as "Delivered" that aren't actually delivered until the next day.

The numbers on Highland Rd do not go up high enough for there to be a corresponding address to one near Willow on Highland Ave.

Other than that, good thought; as a former resident of Highland Rd I've certainly encountered this problem in the other direction.
