Looking for free or cheap old typwriter :)

Hi, there. :) My mom wants to get my 8 year old niece a typewriter for the holidays, but doesn't want to spend much money-she's a child of the computer age, thinks those hideous things are really neat, and of course, we both ditched ours ages ago. If you have one to give away or sell really cheap, please let me know-thanks! I'm assuming most out there are electric, but if you have the old-fashioned non-electric kind, that would be really cool!

FYI: As of 3:00 today (Saturday, Decemeber 6th) the City of Somerville has declared a snow emergency.

What does this mean to me?
Your car must be parked on the ODD SIDE of the street by 3:00 p.m. today.

How did you know that?
The side of the street on which you are allowed to park depends on the year. Odd years = odd side of the street and even years = even side of the street.

So, 2003 = odd year = odd side of the street.

If you ever suspect there might a snow emergency, call City Hall at:

If there is a snow emergency, there will be a message to tell you so.
