Snow emergency lifted

Somerville has lifted its snow emergency as of 12:30 today. According to the website, anyone who parked their vehicle in one of the alternative city lots instead of on the street has until 2:30 to move their vehicle or else it will be ticketed or towed.

Now, I think giving folks only 2 hours- especially in the middle of a work-day- is something that needs to be changed. I think this should be the next goal, tweaking this policy and making it more realistic.

Does anyone know where there is an old cellphone recycling bin in the local area? I have an ancient one that is useless even for the women's shelter. I do have a newer one that will be dropped off at the PD, just so nobody gets on my case.

And hell, while I'm at it, is there also a place to recycle regular AA/etc batteries instead of just chucking them in the trash?
