Huge yard sale on Saturday, July 22 at 10-12

If you're in the neighborhood on Saturday, come by a huge building-wide yard sale at 70-72 Central Street. The building is at the corner of Central and Gibbens, one block off Highland.

There will be clothes, furniture, toys, kitchenware, etc. Lots of stuff from multiple units.

It should not rain in the morning, so we're doing this 10-12.

So, what is the city closed tonight? There's cops at Broadway and Powderhouse blocking Curtis and North (all 4 crosses). Plus sawhorses further up on Curtis and North.

I saw branches down. I didnt (yet) see the fire department or the power company.

I just got voice mail from a city phone broadcast: Mayor Curtatone has requested that Governor Romney declare a disaster area in portions of West Somerville.

So! As a weather enthusiast, I thought I'd share the following conjecture.

Judging by the damage pattern I saw walking around this hour, and the fact that in neighboring towns (other than Medford) they just had heavy rain and thunder but no wind damage, I'd say we just experienced a microburst. The kind of storm that kills planes.
