from today's Sunday Globe City Weekly:

March by candlelight to mark 9/11

Tomorrow, Somerville will hold its fifth annual candlelight vigil to honor the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Residents are invited to participate in a march along the Community Path followed by a ceremony in Davis Square. Those interested in marching should gather at 6:45 p.m. at the Cedar Street path entrance, where candles will be provided. The march, which will feature honor guards from the Somerville Police and Fire departments, will begin at 7 p.m. The ceremony will include a welcome by Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, a benediction and a bagpipe performance. For more information, call Nancy Aylward in the mayor's office at 617-625-6600, ext. 2100.

Hello fine Davis Square Residents - I apologize that this isn't specific to Davis, however I know you are all a politically savvy bunch and I'm hoping you can answer a question for me. I am trying to figure out who to address a complaint about the horrible state of the roads in Medford. I can look up specific names and addresses, I'm just not sure if I should be sending my letter to the Public Works department, my ward councilor, the city council, a letters to the editor page, etc.

Thanks all.

Anyone know where near Davis Square I can rent a bike to take on the Minuteman trail?

i have a request/plea/hope for a rideshare from somerville (davis/porter area) to north station (or close) weekday mornings, to arrive near n. station by 7:10 AM.

situation is: i work in salem and want to take the train there. however, the commuter rail line at porter (acton/fitchburg) only starts running trains so that the first one gets into north station at 7:15, which happens to be the exact time that the train i need to take to salem is leaving. taking the T or taking a bus means i would have to leave my house at around 6:30. i am considering doing this; but i'm hoping to find something simpler.

anyone do this? want a passenger for a 15 minute ride? i'll pay you a couple bucks each time (wouldn't be every day).

alternatively, are there active rideshare boards that i should be asking this on? thanks in advance for the tip.
