I have posted in the past regarding dental offices and for some reason when I search the community it isnt bringing up that post which I got a bunch of good replies to. So im starting fresh.

I had a horrid experience at Gentle Dental last year and refuse to go back. I need a dental office (I see a lot of past posts recommending Dr. Cook at Davis Square Dental) that does great basic dental work but also does invisalign work ideally. A one stop office would be great but I know for the most part dental offices and orthodontist offices are seperate. So my question is do you know any offices that are wonderful that do both services OR can you recommend an ortho office near Davis and Ill just wait for an appt with Dr. Cook.

Looking for house mate, Ball Square - 600 - August 1st - No Pets

Looking for a house mate, 10 houses or so from Ball square (Soundbites) 10-15 minute walk to Davis, on the 89, 94 and 96 bus routes. 600 dollars a month. + utilities. No Pets or loud parties.

The house is a typical Somerville double decker (In Medford).the apartment is the first floor. All wood floors, (except the kitchen and bath, which are tile) Large spacious kitchen, beautiful dinning room with large windows & built in china closet and a good sized living room with lots of big windows. The bedroom in question is fairly large with a closet and a wall of windows. The landlord lives upstairs and is quick to help out if anything is broken or you need to be let in. He is nice.

We have access to the backyard, but it is paved. (Nice spot for a small barbecue) The front yard is terraced. Parking is available on the street and is rarely a problem. The Medford police for the most part don't ticket unless there is a snow storm. The street is quiet and treelined and has a nice mix of students, young professionals and older folks who have lived here all their lives.

I am a 26 year old female who works in Boston. I am pretty laid back and quiet. I don't mind living with a male or female, provided they are reasonably clean and relatively quiet. No partiers please.

5K Races?

Hi there everyone --

I did some lite googling on this, but didn't turn up what I was trying to find.

I am wondering if any of you know where I can find a list of open 5K races in the general area. I am specifically looking for races that are very friendly to first-timers and people who are generally not very good ( ... like me!). Bonus points if it's a charitable endeavor. Is there a better community for this question? Is there a comprehensive listing anywhere? Maybe you happen to know of one coming up?

A sound of thunder

It's about 5:15pm and I'm in Porter Square. There was what just sounded like two cracks of thunder (about five minutes apart) -- out of a clear blue sky.

Did anybody actually in Davis Square at the moment also hear these?

Update: Found the storm. It's directly over the building I'm in and the back parking lot. Out the front windows, it's beautiful and sunny. Out the back, it looks like incipient Armageddon. It's like we have our very own thundercloud teathered to the roof.
