I'm wondering if anyone on here drives to Newton (specifically the Needham St area). To make a long story short: On Tuesday night I was carving a pumpkin, cut my pinky deep enough to hit the tendon and am now having surgery on it today. My dilema is that I will have what has been described to me as a boxing glove of dressing covers my entire hand and partial arm... leaving me unable to drive in a safe manner. I would consider the T, but I would have to make at least 3 bus transfers, or a bus to lechmere and switch to D line later, or walk 20 mins to Davis and get on redline and switch at Park st. All the travel would require me to get up VERY early, which makes me sad.

I've been told my arm will also be in a plastic sling that does not keep my arm close to my body but actually in the air and away from it (extended arms like a zombie looking for brains type of situation) for about 6 weeks. hopefully after that my other fingers would be free so I could then drive myself after that point.

Also I must be at work from 8:30 - 5:30, but if you leave before 5:30, and can not wait, I could take the 59 bus to Watertown and have my parents drive me home. My main concern is actually getting to my job.

Bowling Fun!
Come meet some of the Connections Center (still contemplating suggestions for a name change) team  and have some laughs! (Warning: Serious bowling is out of the question if you play with me. Though, you have to promise not to laugh TOO hard! I only bowled a 36 out of 300 last week. Candlepin is HARD! lol)

Next Tuesday, November 6, Somerville will hold an election for all city offices - Mayor, Alderman-at-Large, Ward Alderman, and School Committee member. Polls are open from 7 am to 8 pm. This page will tell you where to vote, and what ward you live in.

For mayor, incumbent Joe Curtatone is being challenged by Suzanne Bremer.

Six candidates (four incumbents, two challengers) are running for the four alderman-at-large seats.

In wards 5, 6, and 7 (the wards closest to Davis Square), the current ward alderman is running for re-election against a challenger.

In wards 1, 2, 3, and 4, the current ward alderman is unopposed for re-election.

All School Committee seats are unopposed; in ward 4, nobody is on the ballot at all because the incumbent failed to return sufficient petition signatures on time.

Remember the weird "Send In The Clowns" ice cream truck discussion from about 6 months ago? The truck was around for a while and then not?

It just toodled past my window. In November.

/wtf :-)
