Our next Davis Square meetup is one week away (October15th) at the Burren. As is the tradition, I'm posting a poll to get a sense of the number of people attending. If you have a facebook, you can also let me know there.

We meet in the back room at 7pm and, as always, the bar will be providing some appetizers and I'll bring nametags. They wanted to know if we wanted anything "Halloweeny", so if you want that (or whatever that might mean) let me know in a comment.

I hope to see many of you next week.

Later on this month, we need to decide where to go for November. In a couple of weeks I'll probably post another poll, but if you want to make suggestions now, that would be good as well.

The Hav is not a traditional synagogue. We meet in a converted Victorian house, use gender-balanced language and focus a lot on social justice, and often sit on cushions or back-jacks on the floor in addition to chairs. We also tend to sing a lot. People tend to come dressed in whatever - you don't need to wear a suit or anything! (Though if a suit's what you're comfy in, feel free.) It's very much a find-what-works-for-you place. We do request that folks not wear scented products, since some of our members are chemically sensitive.

I found the Hav 8 years ago when I first moved to Somerville, was a broke community organizer and desperate to find services I could afford. It ended up becoming one of my primary communities here. Your mileage may vary, but if you've been thinking about services and not sure the usual temples are your cuppa tea, give us a try.
