Good Time will not be reopening. (This isn't really a Somerville issue any more, but I thought it's interesting.)

Somerville Aldermen are fighting late night food

I encourage my friends in Somerville to write to your aldermen and complain that you want late night restaurant and/or convenience store availability. I am sick of having to walk to Cambridge if I want to get food late.

Sorry for the posting overload.

I was wondering, is anyone here going to the Translating Identity Conference?
http://www.uvm.edu/~tic/
i've been wanting to go for years and this really is the year, but i lack transportation. If i could get a ride with someone who is already going, it would be great.

Thank you!

If you haven't noticed it yet, the [livejournal.com profile] davis_square community is in the LJ "Spotlight" for this week. If you go to the livejournal homepage you can see it listed. They were initially interested in spotlighting our community because of the yard sale we had raised significant amounts of money for the Somerville Homeless Coalition.

They were also interested in featuring journals that use LJ for raising money for charity, such as this one, so if you are raising money for a local cause, please leave a link in the comments.

Thanks.

No, not the kind with fruit, the kind who fixes shoes.

An LJ-less friend needs to get her shoes re-soled. There's a place in the alley next to Starbucks, but neither of us knows anything about it. Anyone here have any experience, good or bad, with shoe repair in the Davis area? (or Porter area)

heyo!

my beloved rasta moped was stolen from the locked courtyard at 82 jersey street in the fenway area late last week. the moped was also locked to a secure bike rack. she was locked right next to my motobecane but of course they had to steal a piece of my heart instead of the 50v that has done nothing but leave me stranded miles from home. the rasta moped never once broke down in over 1000 miles.

the thief took the moped, her thick black plastic texturized cover, and the broken lock, as well as a sheet with my name and number on it that i kept tied to her luggage rack when parked.

here is the moped in question

and one more behind this cut and description, etc. )

big reward for her safe return. srsly no questions asked.

crossposted everywhere, feel free to do the same.

Hey there,

I was just out walking my dog and ran into an elderly woman whose dogs have escaped from her fenced yard on Francesca Street.  She didn't have much info to go on other than that they were 2 small dogs, one of whom was white and responds to "Sam".  She wasn't sure if they had tags or not (I suspect not).  I helped her look until it got dark but I figured I'd put it out there in case anyone happens upon them tonight.

So if anyone has two small dogs in their yard or sees them on the street, please post back or let me know and I will try to track this woman down (I only have her street address).

Thanks!
Noah
