The end of the road is in sight for free films at Tufts for the school year. There might be some movies next week, but I don't expect much as next Monday is the end of classes.

Tufts Film Series screens "Pineapple Express" on 4/20 and will show "The Wrestler" and "Gran Torino" next weekend, the last of the semester. They will also show "Sandlot" outdoors on the Academic Quad on 4/27.

Other highlights:

* Tufts will show "La Sierra" with the filmmaker on Tuesday night.
* Tufts Romance Language Department will finish their Brazilian Film Series with "O Outro Lado da Rua" on Wednesday.
* Also on Wednesday, the Somerville Library shows "The Verdict".
* On Wednesday, the Tufts Friends of Israel will screen "Faces of Israel".
* The Tufts Democrats will show "Crossing Arizona" with the filmmaker on Thursday.
* The Independent Film Festival of Boston will have a free screening of short films from CDIABU students on Saturday at the Somerville Theater.

I'll keep my eyes open for more screenings and let you know. I'll try to do an update for next week, though I only know of 2 or 3 movies showing.

Hi folks,

I'm looking to make a motorcycle trip out to Suffield,CT next weekend with a friend.  He's from out of the country (Japan) and does not have a motorcycle here.

I'm interested in renting a motorcycle and none of the motorcycle shops in the area do rentals.  I'm wondering if anyone in the area has a motorcycle that's in good enough shape to make it safely to and from Suffield, CT and would be willing to rent or let me borrow it.

The point of the trip is to attend a vintage BMW motorcycle "tech weekend".  We will be working on and repairing older air-cooled BMW motorcycles - and we can trade use of the bike for a tune-up (fluid changes and the like) or for cash.  I'm not looking for anything fancy, just something that will get from Davis Square to Suffield CT and back in one piece - preferrably at least 600cc.  If it's an air-cooled BMW then that's ideal since there will be plenty of expertise on these bikes on hand at the event.

I need the bike from April 24-April26 (next weekend Friday-Sunday).

If anyone has a bike they're willing to rent / lend in exchange for repairs or knows of someplace that rents motorcycles I'd be interested.

If anyone has an older BMW "airhead" motorcycle and are interested in attending the event (regardless of whether you have a motorcycle to spare), please let me know.  We'll probably be leaving Davis Square on Friday afternoon and returning Sunday early evening.

Thanks,
Luis

my boyfriend and i just visited the teele square cafe this morning and had a great breakfast!

here's the rundown:
we both had the "working man breakfast" with two eggs over easy, toast, hash browns and coffee. we ordered extra potatoes, and a side of bacon.

service was bubbly and friendly, and our coffees were served immediately with the previously promised soy milk -hooray!- in to-go cups (which was really nice after we finished eating to take on a walk, and I suppose it also helps free up tables more quickly).

breakfast came shortly after, and had that well-seasoned restaurant griddle smell. eggs were cooked perfectly, semi-runny yolks, crispy buttery edges. toast was oaty/nutty whole wheat with generous butter. potatoes were flavorful and tossed with sauteed peppers and onions (could have been a little crispier, but the spicing was spot on). the bacon was impressive, very crisp, but not burnt, seemingly flattened with a grill press.

the portions of the breakfasts we ordered without the extra potatoes and bacon would have most likely left us wanting more, as we are used to the gluttony of johhny d's brunch, but the pricing was definitely reasonable and encouraged me to just order the sides, which altogether was less cash than a normal brunch at JD's. (we spent $16, total)

i will totally be back to try something new there soon!

Just wanted to let folks know that the gas station on the corner of School St and Summer St has reopened and it has some of the cheapest gas in the area- $1.879 for regular unleaded, and that's the price for cash and credit- no $.05/gallon surcharge. It's a locally-owned station too. I think a bunch of Brazilians own it. They stopped selling gas when prices skyrocketed to over $3.50/gallon, but now they're back.

Hi we're getting rid of our couch because of our move next week. It is a queen size sleeper sofa.

It is located at 51/53 Mansfield St in Somerville near Union SQ.
