Hi,

We're looking for a roommate in our 4-bedroom apartment in Ball Square.
The apartment is spread out over 2 floors.  There are 2 porches, 2 full bathrooms.
Ample common space, large kitchen with dishwasher, and laundry (not coin-op) within the apartment.
The room is small but not tiny.   The rent is $470/month.  Lease is until end of August.

About current roommates.
Me: I am a grad student at Tufts.  I ride bikes, play in a klezmer/brass band.
Josh: Works at MGH, generally quiet around the house.
Lisa: Works in social research and bartends.  Lisa has a cat, Mono.  Mono is an indoor cat, so we all have to make sure doors are closed and such.

We are all pretty laid back, progressive, community oriented-types.

Let me know if you're interested in coming to take a look at the place and meet us.

Hi there!

This is kind of short notice, but I thought I'd let everyone know about a performance event tonight at 339R Summer Street, just outside the square past the Rosebud Diner at the new space of sprout (We're an education-focused nonprofit :: http://thesprouts.org) .  This is the second event in a series trying to bring people together around good food and good performance.  There will be bread, spaghetti, drinks, and three great performances by ::

- Jenny Romaine has worked extensively as a puppeteer, performer and director with the Bread & Puppet Theater , Janie Geiser and Co., Amy Trompetter, Ninth Street Theater, and OBIE winning Great Small Works , of which she is a founding member.  She will present a new performance about the science and power of light.  There will be chandeliers, lanterns, and fireflies!

- James Croft is a Ph.D. candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education with a background in theater and arts education.  He will be presenting dramatic monologues incorporating ideas from prominent educators as well as from his own experience teaching in London Public Schools.

- Taylor Stoehr helped found the Changing Lives through Literature program in Dorchester District Court.  This program provides ex-offenders the opportunity to take a specially designed literature course to r receive time off probation.  Taylor will be sharing reflections and observations about the educational philosophy behind the program.

If you have any questions before tonight, feel free to call (617.575.9219) or email at spaghetti@thesprouts.org

Doors at 6:30.

The Ego & The Oracle.

from their site:

Jim's Big Ego presents an original theatrical production entitled The Ego & The Oracle - an evening of spontaneous musical fortune-telling.

Part improvisational theater, part cabaret, part audience participation, The Ego & The Oracle is a live stage spectacular where "Ouija Board meets iPod Shuffle". Audience members are invited on stage to ask personal questions of The Oracle. They then spin a giant wheel containing songs by Jim's Big Ego. When the wheel stops, the band spontaneously performs the chosen song, which is then interpreted as the answer to the question. The outcome can be humorous or moving, often both at once.

Hi All,

Just wanted to give a recommendation for anyone looking for a good simple haircut in the square.

I just went to Dentes on Highland Ave and it was a great experience.

I had let my hair get a little too long after years of shaving my head, so I was a little nervous to see what about what would happen when I finally went to get it cut.

They did a great job, and it was totally reasonable.

My two year old barely recognized me when I got home.

It did not seem really busy in there today so I figured I would spread the word.

They haven't done a very good job of publicizing the schedule, but the International Relations Program at Tufts is sponsoring the Global Lens Film Series. It started tonight and will have films from Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Mozambique, Macedonia, China, Iran and more. There will be a screening on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend and screenings will continue into December.

Here's a link to the schedule: http://ase.tufts.edu/ir/eventsGlobalLens.htm

I'll have all the screenings on the Boston Free Films calendar before too long. Everything for this weekend is posted.

All screenings are free and open to the public.
