Looking for someone to rent my furnished bedroom (in a 2 bedroom) starting Feb 1 going until Aug 1 or aug 15.  If you know anyone who is looking, please pass this on.

The apartment is on highland ave, a 2 minute walk from the Davis T.  It is a  well maintained, very lovely apartment.  the room for rent is the bigger of the two bedrooms, with bay windows and has all the requisite furniture plus 2 closets (one built in, one free standing).  The whole apartment gets very good light and the living room and kitchen are good sized, well equipped, and comfortable.

i absolutely love this apartment but will be away for 6 months on research.  My roommate, a 29 year old female, is fantastic.  clean, fun to hang out with, and a no drama, pleasure to live with person.  Looking for a similarly clean, respectful, pleasant person to be her replacement roomie.

I have pictures available to email.  sorry no pets!

Last night around 12:30, I seem to have lost my right mitten between the Joshua Tree and the parking lot behind Davis Square Family Practice.

This is especially annoying because I knit it myself, and it had a pocket on it for my charlie card. It's bright orange and pink and a couple other colors variegated yarn, and has a bright pink star button holding the charliecard in.

If you've found it, I will gladly buy you a drink of your choice at Diesel for its return. Comment here or email me at niki at goon4hire dot com.

To all the Runners out there:

Hey there! I'm new to the Davis Square area and am currently training for a spring marathon. I just started the training, so I don't have to do any really long runs for a while, but I'm having a hard time finding pleasant routes. The snow/ice doesn't bother me, but the cars and the traffic do. It would be great to find a few routes that take me away from places like Mass Ave, to mix things up a bit.

So my question is.. Where do you like to run? What are your favorite routes? I'd love to find a few new, enjoyable routes that range anywhere between 3 and 10 (or more) miles.

Any help would be much appreciated! :)

I am in need of having my tub recaulked, both along the (tile) floor and around the top of the tub along the tile walls. I have the tools as I thought I could do this myself, but it's proving more involved than I want to deal with. Anyone want to help me out or know of a handyman who does this kind of thing? Obviously, I'll pay cash. I live off Holland St. between Davis and Teele.

Dear Davis Sq. Community,

I needed to request an absentee ballot for the January 19 special Senate election, and I felt I would share the information here.

The absentee ballot form can be downloaded here. From the State of Massachusetts Elections Division:
Due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday, the deadline to apply for absentee ballots for the January 19, 2010 special election for US Senate is 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 15.

From my interpretation, the completed absentee ballot application must therefore be received by 5:00pm on Friday January 15. Traditionally, applications must be received by noon the day prior to the election, but Monday the 18th of January is Martin Luther King Day.

Some recent polls* have shown the race as a virtual tie, so whoever you planned on voting for, it is possible that every vote may count. If you were going to be busy working, out of town, or just plain lazy, using an absentee ballot may be a useful solution.
