I'm looking for someone to handle snow management (keeping sidewalks safe and legal, and the driveway functional) for a two-unit building on Kidder near College Ave. It's especially critical that Sunday morning snowstorms be handled well, since one of the residents is a pastor. Other days, there may be some leeway as to timing.

Pay negotiable. Please PM me if interested.

Hello,

Can anybody suggest a food bank or a soup kitchen to donate our farm share -- somewhere close to Porter or Davis sqr? We will be gone for two weeks and will have 2 shares that we would love not to go to waste.

Thanks!

UPDATE: Thank you to everybody who responded. A friend of ours who we split our large share with picked the share up and said she would deal with it.

Very unfortunate news for Ball Square -- the White Hen is closing in March. It's the only truly useful convenience store in the blocks north of Davis. I don't know what I'm going to do without it.

As the manager explained, 7-11 bought out the chain. But 7-11 has no plans to re-open with one of their own stores. They're just shutting it down. All of the staff will lose their jobs, including him.

No more deli, no more soup, no more upscale treats (which I once complained about right here on DSLJ but later grew to love and depend upon). I might beg Yasir to buy the space and give us a convenience store again!

If anybody has any further news, I'd like to hear it.

My family has used "Fels Naptha Laundry Soap" my whole life; we refer to it as "brown soap", although honestly it's yellow.

I used to be able to find it in the detergent aisles of the local grocery stores, but not recently, and now that I have a baby it's more of an urgent issue. (Honestly, it works better on the diaper leaks than shout gel.) It's an extra large bar of soap in a paper wrapper.

Any leads?
