Festival@First 7: Shaken Up Shakespeare opens tonight!

If you think you know Shakespeare, think again. And if you think you know the Theatre@First annual summer one-acts festival, think again.

We've got monsters and matriarchs, puppets and poetry, monologues and mayhem, songs and swords, dancing and death (what? It's still Shakespeare after all...) plus more Hamlets than you can shake a spear at. After one twisted evening with us, you'll never look at the Bard the same way again.

Performances range from the somber to the silly, and run two weekends only at Unity Church of God in Somerville, just down the street from Davis Square. Visit our website to learn more or reserve tickets and we'll see you at the theater!

Friday, July 16 at 8 p.m.
Saturday, July 17 at 8 p.m.
Sunday, July 18 at 3 p.m. (matinee)
Thursday, July 22 at 8 p.m.
Friday, July 23 at 8 p.m.
Saturday, July 24 at 8 p.m.

6 William Street, Somerville, MA 02144

We regret to inform our patrons that the performance space is not wheelchair accessible.

Hello everyone, I'll be moving soon, at least for a year or so, and I realized that I've got 13 unopened tea boxes (TAZO and other brands, usually they have 16-20 teabags in them) that I won't be able to use. I was advised by the moving company that tea is treated with suspicion by Customs Officers these days (no idea why, perhaps baddies mix drugs with tea). So, I'm giving them away. If you are one of the regulars on this board and like tea, please send me a PM here and I'll send you the info on where to pick them up. Spring Hill area. More free stuff (oldish electronics etc) to be advertised later.

OK, they've been claimed. I'll let you know in case nobody picks them up...

Hello all,

At ArtBeat in Davis this weekend, Green Rainbow Party volunteers are going to be walking around collecting signatures so that the Green Rainbow Party gubernatorial candidate, Jill Stein, can qualify to run for governor.

If you are interested helping this great candidate qualify to be on the ballot, I hope you'll stop and sign your name!

No matter who you're pulling for, having the voice of the Green Party in this race promises to shake things up!

And if you want to help collect signatures yourself, I know the help would be appreciated. You can find out more here. You can also message me via LJ if you want to join up with a bunch of existing locals (Camb/Som) to collect signatures.

Thanks for listening!

-- Leah

P.S. The "Green Rainbow Party" is the Massachusetts affiliate of the Green Party of the United States (GPUS).
