davis presence at the Rally to Restore Sanity

I'm curious who else from DSLJ is going to be heading down to the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear?

(I'm taking Worldwide to NYC ($10), catching the HuffPost Sanity Bus there (free), and then returning on Monday on JetBlue ($7). My method of achieving Sanity is probably really insane. Especially since I sprained my ankle really badly 10 days ago. But cheap!)

Help with finding someone for a one-day tiling job

The contractor that I've been using to renovate my bathroom has had to suddenly leave town until early December (death in the family). Unfortunately, there's still about a day's worth of tiling work to be done to finish up; the last few feet of the top of the shower surround, and a bit of the sink backsplash (and then everything needs grouting). It's a straight-forward job with simple 2x2 white tile, although there's a fair amount of cutting to do, as she did the easy bits first. ;-)

Does anybody have any recommendations for someone who could do a small job like this soon (as in, sometime in the next couple of weeks)?

Is there anywhere to play volleyball around Davis Square?

Hi, I recently moved to Davis and I would like to meet some people that share the same hobbie as I do.  that's why I'm looking to join a league or maybe a group of people playing volleyball.

City-sponsored Halloween events in Somerville

The Somerville Recreation and Somerville Police Departments have announced that they will host a series of Halloween events throughout the weekend of October 29th – 31st, including two Haunted Houses and a Halloween Stroll for children of all ages.

On Friday, October 29th and Saturday, October 30th, the Police Department will host a Haunted House at the West District Neighborhood Substation, at 1154 Broadway in Teele Square, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

A Haunted House will also be held at the Somerville Recreation Department, 19 Walnut Street, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Friday.

Finally, on Sunday, October 31st, the annual “Halloween Stroll” will take place along the Community Path from Davis Square to Lexington Park beginning at 12:00 p.m. All community members are invited to each event.
