Support housing and community, and enjoy a lively event in Somerville Apr. 23rd. The Somerville Homeless Coalition’s “Under the Roof” annual benefit dinner will be held again at Arts at the Armory., recognizing 26 years of support of the non-profit organization. Tufts University’s soon-to-retire president, Larry Bacow, has been chosen as this year’s honoree, an acknowledgement of the strong community partnership Tufts and SHC have shared since the Coalition began in 1986.
Festivities will begin at 6:00 p.m., with an open bar and a chance to browse auction items, followed shortly by dinner by Redbones, dancing and an awards ceremony for Bacow and other SHC partners. All monies raised will help underwrite SHC’s high-demand programs, including homeless prevention, permanent housing, emergency shelters for families and individuals, and food programs under Project SOUP, New England’s first free supper program. Dress code for the event is business casual. Tickets are prices at $75 each, or $550 for a table of eight.
Visit www.shcinc.org for more information. Help SHC honor service in the community while raising money for Somerville’s homeless and near-homeless populations.
