As I delve deeper into the world of bread baking I'm looking for a place to find specialty flours. By that I mean different high gluten versions of bread flours (like at the bottom of the page here), not stuff like semolina, amaranth, rye flours (I know where to find those).

I've found a decent selection of bulk flours at the Harvest Market in Central but they don't have the gluten variety I'm looking for. King Arthur has a decent selection too but I've not tried any of them. A Yelp search brought up Christina's Spice & Specialty Foods in Inman but I think those are more of the flours I mentioned above I'm not looking for. My next stop might be the bulk bins at Whole Foods.

Can anyone suggest a place where I can browse and buy these specialty type of flours? And, if not, are there e-tailers? Also, any recommendations for specific types of flour you've used with good results would be awesome too.

Hope this isn't too far off topic here. Thank you so much! [x-posted]

I have 2 mostly broken Roombas that I am getting rid of. One is a Roomba red, and has what I think is a burned out charger board. The second is a white and gray with various broken or dirty sensors and strange behavior. There is one battery between them, and it has reached the end of its useful life. Also includes 1 slow charger power brick. The motors and other sundry parts inside are probably still good and would be good for any sort of project building. Reply in comments and I'll leave them out for you, otherwise they're going in the trash on Monday.

i have two openings for more riding students! my barn is about fifteen miles north of somerville in north reading, but i can offer transportation from davis square, since that's where i live myself :) we can take one person (any level) at a time in a private lesson, or we could do a double lesson (two people riding together) if one of the people already has a little bit of horse experience. times are fairly negotiable, except that fridays are right out. if you're coming from somerville with me, you should plan on about three hours per lesson including transportation.

my horses are icelandic, which means they they have an additional fast, smooth "soft" gait called the tölt as well as the american-typical walk, trot, and canter. we teach total beginners (including scared beginners) through beginning eventing, and are located right next to the harold parker state forest for trail riding. i'm a massachusetts-licensed instructor, and also a certified instructor at level 1 of centered riding. (centered riding is a mental and physical approach to how to ride that applies across disciplines, so it works for english, western, dressage, jumping, icelandics, everything on a horse :)

ETA (thanks ron!) here is pricing info: the barn charges $25 per rider per lesson (that's for their insurance and the use of their facility.) additionally, i charge $40 for a single rider, $50 for two (the double-lesson pricing is a special i'm running for this summer, usually it's just $40 per rider). transportation's free since i have to get myself there anyway :)

If you are taking pictures of the Hollywood movie shoot tonight in Davis Square, please post links to your photos (or photo albums) in the comments here.

Here's my album, which should be publicly readable even without a Facebook login.

The Somerville Theatre has been rolled back to an imaginary May 19, 1999, where it is hosting a midnight (world?) premiere of Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

A few of my low-quality cellphone photos are behind this LJ-cut )

Hey denizens -- anyone know where in the area I can find colored-flame birthday candles? This is a lazybones question; I'll check out the usual funky haunts if I don't get anything here. But if you *know* of such a place, I'd love to hear about it.

I have a car, so can drive to it even if it's not in Davis Sq. Thanks!
