UPDATE: Kitty found! Thanks everyone!

Have you seen our cat Remus? Remus was last seen on Monday night, July 18th, at our home at 19 Higgins Avenue in Medford (at the corner of Bow and Higgins.) He is a tabby (brown with white and light brown stripes,) about 8 years old, and weighs about 11 pounds. He is an indoor cat, and must have slipped out at night. He wasn't wearing tags or a collar, but is microchipped.

Please email johapp AT gmail.com if you have any information or if you might have seen him.

We are very worried about our buddy, and hope we can bring him home soon!

Thanks you.

I have a box that I just cannot bear to recycle.

It came with our copy of the Modernist Cuisine, and it is a marvel of cardboard engineering. It is unbreakable. It is uncrushable. You can probably pack your grandma's china in it, throw it out your third-floor window into a waiting truck, and expect the china to survive unscathed. Rumor has it the darn box alone cost 70 bucks to produce.

It's been sitting in my living room for months.

So, if you are planning to move your family heirloom across the country, let me know and I'll leave it out on the porch for you (North Cambridge, less than a mile from Davis).

With all the inserts, the box fits a 5 volume encyclopedia. If you take the inserts out, it'll fit considerably more.

ETA: here's a video of someone unboxing the Modernist Cuisine, which will give you a good sense of what the box is like. I believe I've lost the cardboard cones, but have everything else. http://seattlefoodgeek.com/2011/04/video-unboxing-of-the-modernist-cuisine-books/

I have jury duty tomorrow at the Malden District Court. does anyone know if you can bring your laptop in? (I couldn't find the answer on their website, and I think they just closed a few minutes ago because I tried calling and got no answer.) thanks!

I am looking for a mason to repoint some brick steps and block foundation. I have called about a dozen but have not had much luck in getting call backs. Anyone you would recommend?
