from the Somerville Arts Council mailing list:

Dear Somerville Artisan,

I would like to create an artist collaborative in Davis Square. I am the owner of the building at 196-200 Elm Street, the former home of the Caning Shoppe. The location for the art collaborative will be at the newly created 198 Elm St, a 1700 s.f. retail location with lots of light and a new glass entrance and HC ramp ( in process) facing Davis Sq.

The space lends itself to up to 12 artisans, with the size of space ranging from 60 s.f. to 160 s.f. Some spaces are enclosed, others are open and would be defined by your counters. Drop-up and pick-up space is available on the side of the building and storage is available in the basement. The rent is approximately $350 per month for smaller spaces. Price includes rent, taxes, utilities and basement storage area, pick-up/delivery space and shared customer parking.

I would like to try the art collaborative over the Holiday season this year, with the hope that artists may chose to stay on.

Please let me know if you have any interest in this art collaborative. I would be happy to show you the space and hear your thoughts.

The space should be finished on or about Nov. 15

Look forward to hearing from you soon,

Happy post-Halloween! I'm wondering if, locally, there's such a thing as an odor removal service. Specifically, pet odor. To complicate things, pet odor in wood.

We have a utility closet that became the stealth pee target of our very elderly Siamese. Dear kitty left this mortal coil two years ago, but the smell persists, especially in summer. We've dealt with it by just blocking the door to the closet most times, but we really need the storage space. I tried Nature's Miracle but no miracle was delivered. Wondering now if there's a professional who could help. I guess it doesn't have to be super-local, since they'd be coming to us and we'd pay what they need. Grateful for leads from my neighbors. :-)

Just wondering if anyone out there would like to make some spare $$$ tomorrow helping me disassemble a bar and back bar and loading it into a truck. Probably no more than 1 to 2 hours work, some heavy lifting. This is right in Davis. Experience in wood dissasembly a plus! Would need you between 4 and 6 pm.

...so, I'm wondering if there would be any interest in starting a group to work through Julia Cameron's "The Artist's Way" (12-week course in developing higher creativity) together. For $0.

I'm starting the book again - for the 3rd time - and just thought that it makes sense to work with a group. I'll offer to coordinate if there are others in the Davis area interested in meeting up and going through it week by week. Figured we could meet at a mutually convenient place in or near Davis...

eh?
