Hi!

Does anyone know if the Lechmere bound 87 and 88 are making stops at Davis with the road closures? I know when they block Davis for Art Beat, they turn at Cameron Ave and go down to Mass Ave. But the MBTA website says to make connections at Broadway and Holland Ave so it sounds like the are going through Powder House to College, which means they might be dropping off at the College Ave Entrance.

Any first hand experience would be appreciated.

do any of you lovely folks have (or know anyone who has) recentish experience job-hunting using employment agencies? (for permanent employment, not temp agencies.) can you recommend any good/helpful agencies, or do you know any i should avoid? do people even use them any more?

i've just started looking for a job for the first time in fifteen years - by which i mean i've been at my current job that long, not that i've been out of the workforce - i'm an office assistant/admin and also do what used to be called desktop publishing, altho for all i know it's called something different now. it means i research and assemble planning studies, basically.

conversely, if your place of employment needs an admin with a bunch of years' experience in finding the one useful piece of paper in a filing cabinet, putting off phone solicitors, putting together giant (11" x 15") books, and learning how to read her boss' mind, let me know. :D

(standard disclaimer that i have a car and am not tied to places that are t-accessible.)

Punjabi Grill is now open at the former location of Namaskar, 236 Elm Street. I didn't go in today, but I saw the Open sign and people eating inside.

If you go, let us know how it is.

the big bad
Call for Entries: The BIG BAD
Submission Deadline: August 25, 2012

The Nave Gallery
October 6–28, 2012
Curated by Jenn Harrington

In a land not so far away, where everything seems quite big and terribly bad, The Nave Gallery asks artists to submit work that mirrors their vision of The BIG BAD. Whether it be the repo man, banks, politicians, the ex, the evil step-parent, the monster in the closet, the tick-tock of a bad heart—we are looking for true representations of the foes that wreck our homes, our health, our families, our childhoods. The bump in the dark of night, the shadow lurking in the corner of your eye, those things that haunt us even if we've buried it four times over, The BIG BAD aspires to show that the real-world adversaries threatening our ruin are close companions to the phantoms locked in our imaginations.

Visual artists working in all 2-D and 3-D media (including video and installation) are invited to submit work.
