FYI-Some Somerville school kids will have "trick or treat for Unicef" boxes.  Keep your pocket change close by if you want to contribute.

Also, a plea from the parent of a Panda, a Lego and an indecisive 4 yr old.   If you want trick-or-treaters, please leave a porch light on. If you want to be extra neighborly and awesome, add a sign to your door or doorbell.  With 2 family houses, it is very tricky to figure out who wants trick-or-treaters and who doesn't!

Pop up Halloween costume store?

Usually there's one of those pop-up seasonal costume stores in Davis, but... there isn't one this year, right? I haven't lost my ability to see them, have I? Is there one nearby-ish? I don't want to trek all the way downtown if I can help it. (I have way too much costume sewing left to do!)

Edited to add: I'm looking specifically for a Merida wig. My attempts at dying and curling my daughter's hair have failed. My towels, on the other hand, may never be the same.

Foodmasters are closing

As you all know, some Foodmaster markets were purchased by Whole Foods.  Some were not.  I just came from my local Foodmaster, one that is not being bought, and got the news that all the ones not purchased by Whole Foods will be closing by mid-November.  They are looking for a buyer, but as of right now, the plan is to close.

I am so sad.  I love my Foodmaster's meat department/butcher.  They always had tasty cuts of meat at excellent prices.  My protein budget will likely double when I have to buy at Stop and Shop.  :(
