Modelo Butcher Market Opens in Magoun Square

The Modelo Butcher Market, located at 501 Medford Street in Magoun Square, is open today! This is another new business in a string of businesses that have opened up shop in Magoun, including a beer and wine store, hairdresser, and alterations/dry cleaning service.

Featuring cold cuts, fruits, meats, and seafood, the former Cara Donna location has undergone a massive interior and exterior renovation throughout the winter for today's opening.

At this point, there is no website for the business and I have yet to locate a phone number. I will comment this information when it becomes available.

Powderhouse & Packard St. now a 4-way stop intersection

Noticed it over the weekend.  They have a big flashing sign if you're coming from the Powderhouse rotary to watch for new traffic signals, but not if you're coming from route 16.  I went by the intersection twice over the weekend, and each time, I saw someone run through the stop sign obliviously coming from route 16.  One of them got pulled over by a cop who must have been posted there, and the other one got away with it because another person was already stopped for running the sign.  So, be aware if you're driving, and definitely don't assume people are aware of the stop signs if you're trying to cross the street on foot or bike (or car, for that matter).

What's in the fomer ZIng Pizza location?

Last Saturday around 6pm there were about 30-40 people lined up in front of the former Zing Pizza location. Just wondering what's moved in there. Apparently it's popular.
