We had some getting work done upstairs, resulting in the disconnection of one old (classic, antique) radiator. The guy who did the work did not take the radiator with him, an I thought I could call the radiator place in Union to come and take it. However, it seems they won't come for just one.

So, does anyone want to take a really heavy radiator off our hands and go sell it at the radiator place for $35? Or maybe you collect them yourself? Or maybe you will take pity on a young couple expecting a baby, oh, any day now, and get this thing out of our bedroom? :-)

Thanks to Ron Bargoot in the Facebook group "Somerville: The Good Old Days", David Misch's early-1970s song "Somerville" is now a YouTube music video. Enjoy!

The Facebook discussion of this video is here.

(Here's the MP3 audio file for your downloading pleasure, and here are the lyrics.)

I just realized that I never changed my locks after buying my place (our dear seller, I hope you are not reading this).  I searched old posts, and the posts under "key and lock" were dated in 2011 or earlier.  Are there recent recommendations for locksmiths?  For changing the lock, do I need to buy brand new ones?  Or I have to somehow take it apart and bring it to a hardware store?  Or I should ask a locksmith to come?  What is a reasonable price to change the lock for the front door?

Thanks,

Hubway is operational again and there are some changes in our vicinity:

Cambridge:
New station at the Radcliffe Quad, at Garden St/Shepard St
Planned station for the Porter Square T plaza

Somerville:
New station at Highland Ave/Somerville Hospital
New station at Teele Square/Elm St
New station adjacent to Tufts at Packard Ave/Powderhouse Blvd
Ball Square station moving down the block to Bristol Rd at the intersection of Broadway

EDIT: These are copied from an email sent from Hubway to members. I am aware that Elm St doesn't go to Teele Sq, and some of these new stations don't exist on the map on Hubway's website.

Hello again. I would like to get the outside of my house painted this spring. Looking for recommendations for contractors. I'm not sure if the existing paint contains any lead, but I'd like someone who will control the dusts and contain everything just in case it does.

Thanks!
