Be a Somerville Ambassador! Volunteer with SOS!

Hi! Somerville Open Studios needs volunteers to tell people how awesome Somerville and the Somerville Arts Scene are. Can you spare two hours?

We will have two Info Booths, one each in Union Square and Davis Square. And we need your help to staff them.
SOS also runs free Trolleys looping all around Somerville, and we would like to staff those with people who can talk a little about the highlights at each stop (we'll provide bullet points if you need them). Most of our members are in their studios during SOS so the artists can't help with these parts of the weekend. We need you!

Sat. + Sun., May 4 + 5
Info Booth hours: 11am - 6pm
Trolleys run: 12noon - 6pm

SOS is getting a LOT of press this year. That means the overall profile of the Somerville arts scene is raised. In a band? From the trolley, point out your porch for Porchfest. Have a performance coming up? Give out your own flyers or even ride in costume as long as you can do that while talking about SOS. (Keep the costumes G-rated, please). If you have friends or partners participating in SOS, this is a great way to support them.

Neighborhood meeting 4/23 on Flatbread/Sacco's Bowl-Haven expansion

While walking down Day Street, I saw this leaflet stuck in the front fence of an apartment building:

There will be a Neighborhood Meeting regarding the proposed expansion of Flatbread to be located at 49 Day Street, Somerville

Sponsored by Ward 6 Alderman Rebekah Gewirtz

Flatbread representatives, their attorney and the Architect shall be present to speak with neighbors and answer any questions.
