No one had posted as of yet, so I thought I'd do so.  I'm blatantly stealing from Ron's 2012 post since that seems to be tradition around here.
The City of Somerville will set off fireworks at Trum Field Thursday, June 27, starting at about 9:15 pm, presuming the schedule hasn't changed from last year. .

The fireworks will be preceded by a general street party on Broadway, starting at 6 pm, featuring live entertainment by the Somerville Sunsetters, the Somerville Moonlighters, Bova Productions, the USO Metropolitan New York Performers, and Booty Vortex. The U.S. Air Force Band of Liberty, who performed last year, has been decommissioned due to budget cuts.

See road closures and changes to bus schedules below the cut (hopefully).

The city will also hold a 'Family Fun Day' at Trum Field on Saturday, June 29th from noon – 5:00 P.M., which will include a free barbecue and various children's activities.

[Ron, followed by me, blatantly stole the title of this post from josephineave's 2008 post about the same event]

Joe's Jazz and Blues Festival, a free outdoor event, takes place tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, June 22) in Powder House Park. The schedule:

Noon - Somerville High School Jazz Ensemble
    1 pm - Darrell Nulisch
2 pm - The Brett Walberg Group
3 pm - Geoff Bartley & Howie Tarnower

If we ever get a new mayor, s/he'll have to change the name of this event (unless the new mayor is Joe Lynch).

The Somerville Mobile Farmers' Market starts tomorrow. This is a truck from Enterprise Farm that stops at several different locations within the city. This year's schedule:

    • Saturdays, 10 am-1 pm: Mystic Housing Project, 530 Mystic Ave. (Last year's actual location was in this parking lot, and I assume it will be there again this year)
    • Saturdays, 2-5 pm: North Street Playground (a different location from last year)
    • Thursdays, 1-3:30 pm: Somerville Council on Aging, 169 Holland St.. (Last year was in the parking lot outside the front door, and I assume it will be there again this year.)
