ETA: new home found !

Once-upon-a-million-years-ago, give or take 10, we did some renovation work in an old mansion in Newton that involved removing a very handsome built-in oak panel foyer bench.  A couple of meatheads started the job and were a little less graceful than would've been ideal, but we got there in time to do a decent salvage op.  Brought the pieces back to the warehouse, buried them in a corner, forgot about them.  Just found them again.  We don't have any work in the pipeline that might benefit from having an antique built-in oak panel foyer bench installed and we'd like to use the space for other things.  Anybody want this thing ?  Located in Magoun Sq, delivery available.

Yes, I know this is not strictly speaking a Davis Sq. event, but I think Central Sq. is close enough to be of interest.
Geek Central is a one-day festival of geeky events organized by Pandemonium Books & Games to celebrate its 24th Anniversary.

It going to be happening at different venues throughout Central Square (Cambridge, MA).  There will be free ice cream (Tosci's) and cake (Lyndell's) as well as filking at Pandemonium proper.   There's Commedia del'Arte and male burlesque, Geek-themed mini golf, a reading/signing by Naomi Novik (Temeraire series), a Kirk Poland Memorial Bad Prose competition, board gaming, anime cosplay brunch, screenings and karaoke, with a big party at the end!

For science fiction book lovers, The MIT SF society is purging its world-class library of duplicate titles for the first time EVER.  This is a decade-spanning collection of 5000+ books that will be available for sale at Geek Central's vendor room.

And much more!  Take a look at the web site, come, and enjoy!   http://geekcentral.org/

So our countertop portable dishwasher is no longer operating properly, and I definitely lack the knowledge on how to fix it (plus with parts it's probably more efficient to just get a new one).

What are the odds that trash will take it without a White Goods sticker? It's a smaller model, about 2 feet cubed, and probably smaller than some TVs people have put out for pickup.

If the city definitely won't take it without a sticker, what are my non-DPW options? Taking time off of work to deal with city bureaucracy isn't an option. :)
