Want to get involved in making this year’s Somerville Open Studios great? Don’t miss our final meeting for SOS2014!

March 31: Membership & Volunteer Meeting
In this last membership meeting of the season, we will focus on volunteer needs and getting the word out about SOS. We are looking for help distributing posters and mapbooks; staffing the SOS infobooths during the event; and assisting the trolleys that take visitors around the event. Come meet other volunteers and coordinators and help us make this year’s SOS a success for artists and visitors.

There will also be an opportunity to screenprint your own Tshirt with the SOS logo—stay tuned for more details!

Monday, March 31, 7-9pm
Mad Oyster Studios
2 Bradley Street

Possibly a random question, but who is in charge of administering the community gardens in Somerville (like the one on the Minute Man path near Davis Square)?
I ask because my sister works for the Chamber of Commerce in my hometown in Pennsylvania, and someone has approached her about starting a community garden there. She was hoping to find someone that she can email to ask some questions about running of such a thing (how is insurance handled, etc.), and I said I would try to help her track down the right contact here.
Any help directing me to the right person(s) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hope to see you there. This is a great community organization in Somerville and the annual event is very fun.

Join us this special once-a-year night when we clean off the dirt, get dressed up, and celebrate the amazing accomplishments of the past year, while raising money for the big year ahead and toasting to our amazing volunteers and interns who have put so much effort in over the past 12 months. They've planted seeds, boiled syrup and built beds, and are ready to do it again this year! We'll be celebrating all night with live music by PJ Project, prizes, and beer from sponsors like Smuttynose, Peak Organic, Aeronaut, and Mystic Brewery.

This year, we will be giving the "Golden Trowel Award" to Gentle Giant and the City of Malden for their efforts in open space, health, and the environment this past year!
