DATE & TIME:
Saturday, June 13, noon-6 pm

LOCATION:
Seven Hills Park at Davis Square

ADMISSION FEE:
FREE

WHAT’S HAPPENING:
The Somerville Squeezebox Slam is a celebration of accordions, button boxes and other free reed instruments that we’ve come to know and love. Accordionists of all sizes, shapes, skill levels and musical genres are invited to stroll around the neighborhoods of Somerville, sharing their melodious sounds, and like pied pipers from an alternative fairy tale, beckon all to come and follow them as they head to Davis Square for a concert of some of New England’s finest squeezebox players. So dust off your grandfather’s squeezebox that’s been sitting in the attic and join us for an afternoon of pumping the bellows!

For those of you that use Twitter, the City of Somerville has partnered with local business support organizations to encourage people to mention their favorite businesses on Twitter followed by #SomerBliss throughout the month of June.

This is a fun way to get people out and in our local establishments. The business that gets the most #SomerBliss mentions wins recognition from the City in the form of a banner and a membership in supporting organizations.

Check out the banner here because I'm too stupid to use the whole "cut" feature and I don't want to get yelled at: http://bit.ly/1BEcoGx

In case anyone is interested, I'm selling an eclectic group of items, including some vintage items. I'm right in the square on Day Street. The full list is here:

I'm also selling a bunch of books, including some linguistics textbooks. You can see those here:

I want to volunteer at an animal shelter or rescue and maybe eventually do some fostering. I live on the Medford/Somerville border and don't have access to a car. Any local recommendations?
