There is a community meal tonight at 31 College Ave in Davis at 6pm open to all.
The food is all organic, when possible, and prepared by a professional chef.  There is no charge for the meal --many of our guests cannot afford to dine out, we are funded by donations and formal fundraisers but no one will ask you pay.  We really appreciate it when members of the community come out and socialize with our regular crowd, hence the "community" theme...Hearty Meals for All HMFA is on Facebook if you want to check it out...have a great weekend.

I noticed in the last couple of days that Pat's Towing in Union Sq. has emptied their lot and put up a sign that they have moved. Where did they go? Nothing is updated on their web site that I can find.

It's information I hope I never have to use, but it's good to know where the tow lot is when they take your car.

I've been out of the loop for a while, largely because of night classes on top of a day job. Can anyone point me to a place I can get information about why there are people demonstrating against Alderman Jack Connolly outside the T in the mornings? Their movement doesn't seem to have a web presence that I can find. Has campainging season for this November's election already started, or is something else going on? He's been in office for a long, long time, so I could understand this just being a push to remove someone so entrenched. Based on the euphamisms for "gentrifier" in his own web presence, and the fact that the people demonstrating against him seem to be locals in blue-collar jobs, I'm inclined to assume that the protesters are a good authority on the question of whether he's good for working families. I vote in Medford, so even though he's at-large rather than associated with a particular Ward, I don't actually have a say, but I'd like to be informed.

Because I just replaced my Epson printer with a newer model, I have a bunch of Epson 60 ink left over that I no longer need or can use. Would any of you out there like some for free? If so, comment here or send me an LJ private message.

Magenta - 2 unused, 1 partly used
Cyan - 1 unused, 1 partly used
Yellow - 1 unused, 1 partly used
Black - 1 unused, 1 partly used

I also would be happy to get rid of the no-longer-working Epson CX4200 printer that used this ink. Right now if I turn it on, all of the green and red lights flash and the alphanumeric display shows a red E, so it won't print or scan. The waste ink counter is not full (I ran a program to check this).

If anyone wants to tinker with it or cannibalize it for parts, it's yours for the taking. You will need to carry it away yourself, as I am forbidden to lift anything greater than 10 pounds while recovering from eye surgery.

ETA 6/19/15: At Jim Baab's suggestion, I gave this to Parts & Crafts so that kids can take it apart and perhaps reuse its components to build something else.
