Theatre@First is excited to announce our November show: Love's Labour's Lost (in Space)! Sign-ups are now open to audition on Monday, Aug 29 or Thursday, Sept 1 at Unity Somerville.

Are you a fan of the Bard, or of classic sci-fi tv? Actors are welcome to read for any role regardless of gender. Actors of color are strongly encouraged to audition.

In Love's Labour's Lost (in Space), Ferdinand of Space Station Navarre and his friends vow to avoid all terrestrial pleasures to pursue a life of study for the next three years. But when the spaceship of the Princess of Aquitaine and her ladies arrives, those oaths prove impossible to keep. Faithful to Shakespeare's text, our production will focus on the fantastic comedy of the script, while playing with the possibilities of setting the Bard in the vast beyond.

Mark your calendar now for our performances at Unity Somerville on Nov 11-18!

Tisha b’Av commemorates the destruction of the first and second Temples. In keeping with the theme of mourning losses the Jewish people have suffered, at the Havurah we read by candlelight or flashlight, don't greet each other before or after the service, and those who are able to sit on the floor. In addition to chanting Eicha (Lamentations) we sing mournful songs. Although sad, it can be a powerful experience and we hope you'll join us.

I've been racking my brain and searching the Internet with no luck but I feel sure someone here can help me. What was the name of the café/restaurant/catering place at 136 College Ave. before The Broken Yolk was there (and then obviously before Noor)? You could dine in but they had prepped dishes daily that were most often taken to go. They were open in 2003-04 for sure, plus some time before and after. TIA!

Hi all, the Leonid meteor shower is ongoing, with peak viewing expected to be Thursday night into Friday morning. For any people into this kind of thing, where do you suggest going to view? Obviously we need to get away from the city, but does anyone have a favorite spot? Thanks!
