Help me Davis_square!

I am moving on Friday. I hired movers (Precision), who advised me to get permits for the moving truck. I did this last week at the Traffic building on Holland. This morning, I saw that the signs were posted at the place I'm moving into.

At the apartment I'm moving from, however, someone took the signs off the street and left them on the porch. I'm guessing it was a neighbor, as parking is sparse already on the street.

Should I call the traffic department to report this? What's the next step here? I just want to move and have it be finished, as I am really unhappy with the landlord in my current place. Help!

Edited to update: One of my old roommates was nice and put the signs back on the sidewalk for me. The move went off without a hitch and was completed in less than two hours. No parking infractions were incurred, and I would mark this as one of my better moving experiences.

I'd just call 311 and they'll direct you appropriately.

I'd call the city. The same thing happened to a friend of mine, though they just had the moving truck block the driveway instead.

As you have a legal permit, call the police department and report what happened. Odds are they'll tell you to repost the signs, which are official city signs, no different in legality from the permanent metal ones on posts.

Wow. This is a new low in brazenness.

The sad thing is, the person who might be parked in that spot is probably not the perpetrator, and this could cause them to be ticketed and towed at their own expense if they haven't moved by the time the parking ban goes into effect.
