I don't see "except Saugus" on that page -- maybe there was a subsequent update?

Correct. Saugus failed a test at some point but later passed enough to be cleared.

Reading the article... does this mean that the water in other communities was safe all along, or that the water coming through the pipes *now* is safe? It's not very clear.

It's annoying how long it takes to check for contamination. :-/

The MWRA system is indeed backup for Cambridge, and Cambridge used MWRA water while they were replacing their water plant a decade or so ago.

I offered my water to many Somerville/Boston friends and now i was not the only one to do so.
