I recently suggested to some friends that we needed to find a bar that would let us watch Glee somewhere that would let us totally gleek out. This isn't totally out of the possible; I watched the last 3 seasonsof Buffy in a bar in Atlanta that got about 50 people a week at its Buffy Nights. The Glee proposal has received much 'oooh, let's' responses.

Next week:

1. Neil Patrick Harris is on.
2. He is evil.
3. He and Shue sing Dream On by Aerosmith.

This is all I need. This is more than I need. And I might explode if I watch it at home.

While massing at a friend's place is always possible, I'd kinda enjoy doing it somewhere where the crowd is open, and other fans can join in.

Does anyone have a suggestion or two for a place that has a tv they'll turn away from sports for an hour for a bunch of musical nerds who will likely sing and air guitar and buy drinks?

I don't have a suggestion, but I do have a desperate plea to be invited along to this! I don't have a TV (well, I do, but I rarely watch anything but DVDs, so I don't have service) - and this sounds like a lot more fun than watching it on hulu the next day.

Indeed. I'd actually been thinking about trying to organize something similar, but at someone's house. A bar sounds good, too, for the reasons listed.

I'd ask at Orleans at least. The trouble may be that the Sox play just about every Tuesday, but they could possibly be convinced that this would be worth it.. (And they can keep the Sox on one of the small screens, anyway.)

The other problem is the NBA and NHL playoffs, which may or may not still involve Boston teams by next week.

Edit: And, as it turns out, the Celtics are playing Game 2 of the third round next Tuesday night.

I don't know if Gargoyle's even has a TV, but it sounds like something they might be interested in.

They do -- we were there last week, and I remember because they were showing Nascar, which struck me as, I dunno, it just struck me. :)

Yeah, it does seem weird for Gargoyle's to be showing Nascar.

With nothing to back me up than a gut feeling, maybe one of the bars that holds Rock Band nights?

I watched the Oscars at Orleans. They might be down for that

Unfortunately, when there are big sports events, they tend to stick to that.

when you find a place

let me know.

my old skool dvr will only record LOST that night. Glee is more conducive to a place that makes girly drinks.

I have no useful information, but just had to say I totally loved the phrase "gleek out."

Speaking of watching television in public places, I wonder if there could be such an event for the last episode of Lost? Perhaps I should make a new post? I've been watching it online but am dreadfully afraid of being spoiled before I can watch it Monday after it airs.

The Brattle will be showing the last Lost. It's a members-only event, but I recommend membership -- it's a great deal for movie-lovers.

I'm not terribly into Glee, but why don't you guys organize a shindig at one of your places? Have a few beers, watch some people sing. Damn, that does sound fun...

West Side Lounge might do it. Of course, they have the self-proclaimed smallest televisions. :)
