i need to find a bar.

I recently suggested to some friends that we needed to find a bar that would let us watch Glee somewhere that would let us totally gleek out. This isn't totally out of the possible; I watched the last 3 seasonsof Buffy in a bar in Atlanta that got about 50 people a week at its Buffy Nights. The Glee proposal has received much 'oooh, let's' responses.

Next week:

1. Neil Patrick Harris is on.
2. He is evil.
3. He and Shue sing Dream On by Aerosmith.

This is all I need. This is more than I need. And I might explode if I watch it at home.

While massing at a friend's place is always possible, I'd kinda enjoy doing it somewhere where the crowd is open, and other fans can join in.

Does anyone have a suggestion or two for a place that has a tv they'll turn away from sports for an hour for a bunch of musical nerds who will likely sing and air guitar and buy drinks?

The Giobbe House: The Saga Continues

While I was out of town last week, the Somerville Planning Board discussed the question of whether MLM Realty will be permitted to subdivide the lot at One Benton Road, where The Giobbe House formerly stood, into two parcels in order to build a second three-condo structure. As I mentioned in a former blog entry, the position of the Somerville Historic Preservation Commission, as well as a number of Somerville residents, is that the renovated house at One Benton Road demonstrates wanton disregard for the preservation of the character and history of the neighborhood.
