Tufts Movers -- any experience with?

 I am looking at various movers for this weekend and came across an ad on CL from a guy named John who says he started a moving company while at Tufts to make some extra cash.

Wondering: anyone on the board ever used them or heard anything (good or bad) about them?

I don't have any experience with Tufts Movers but I have had repeatedly fantastic experiences with Gentle Giant.

Yeah, I'm only moving downstairs and only need help with some large items -- not, thankfully, the whole kit and caboodle. I'm not so good on the planning...what can I say? :)

I second the Gentle Giant rec. They're mostly rowers off for the summer and are really strong and rather nice and respectful of your stuff :)

If you're going with Gentle Giant, be aware that they have a four-hour minimum for morning moves and a two-hour minimum for afternoon moves. If you're having them move a small amount of stuff, it's worth requesting an afternoon time.

I haven't had any experience with them, but Nick's Movers in Somerville has done well by me.

I used them for a move last fall across town. They sent 2 guys, which was fine for the amount of stuff I had.

The move went fine, though, it was much slower than I would have expected during the loading time. I moved out of another apartment of similar size, and into a new one, with two hired movers last year in 5 hours. The load-out of the apartment took almost 4 hours this time. All told the job was about 6.5 hours, though I paid the movers for 7.

YES! Intelligent Labor and Moving are the best movers ever. They live up to their name 100%. I have used them three times!
