Tree coming down

The giant maple on Highland (next to the dance studio, at the end of Cherry Street) is being taken down as I write this. Does anyone know if there was a problem with the tree or they have plans for the lot?

Sad to say but I have to imagine that the lot is going to be developed if the tree looks OK.

The maple was sick—my boyfriend lives in one of the apartments there (as did I, for a while). AFAIK, there's no plan to develop the lot into something else.

Excellent, great to hear. I always enjoy seeing that nice green lot on the way down Highland, unfortunately now without the shady tree.
