Travel back to the Golden Age of Radio, to Sunday, October 27th, 1946, to the WPM studios in the Rooftop Gardens Auditorium of the old Putnam-Moore Department Store in downtown Boston, and join Frank, Amelia, Charley, Lex Concord and the Minutemen, the Chowderhouse gang and very special guest, BORIS KARLOFF!

WPM's classic fright-fest returns to the airwaves!

Thanks to new information accumulated over the past year, we are able to bring you another Boston original: the anthology of the arcane featuring twin tales of terror presented by your horrific host, The Bookkeeper. Two macabre stories designed to keep you glued to your seats before sending you screaming from the theater!

But Oh, What Happened to Hutchings!
A Victorian black comedy with grave consequences!

In London of 1825, a divinity student gets more than he bargained for when he's befriended by a disreputable young doctor with a sideline in "cadaver acquisition" and a retired missionary with fond memories of his days proselytizing among the headhunters and cannibals.

The monster of Greek myth in the heartland of America!

It's 1943 and the Navy is counting on the barge Omaha to get its load of munitions safely to the Gulf of Mexico. But when a seductive voice is heard over the ship's radio and members of the crew begin to disappear, the Captain knows it's more than the unpredictable wiles of the Missouri River they're up against!

Auditions

Cast Auditions & Foley/FX Interviews:
August 8th-9th, 2010 @ 7:00pm

Callbacks:
August 10th, 2010 @ 7:00pm

Location:
Unity Church of God
6 William Street (at College Avenue)
Somerville, MA 02144
(4 blocks up College Avenue from the Davis Square T-Station)

Preparations:
Cast Auditions will consist of readings from the scripts.
No prepared monologues are necessary. Sides (selections) will be posted on our website no later than one week prior to auditions.

Vocal Auditions will occur the same time as Cast Auditions.
Those interested in auditioning for one of the singing roles in “The Sirens of War” should prepare a verse or two of a folk song,
Christmas carol, hymn, etc.; something that can be sung a cappella. Please, no showtunes.
We want to hear you sing material that is similar in style to what will be used in the show.

Foley/FX Interviews will occur the same time as Cast Auditions.
Those interested in performing on one of the Foley/FX Teams will be interviewed by a veteran Foley/FX performer.
Teams members will be chosen from the pool based on those interviews.

Thank you! Of all the shows we've done, this is the first time that people are coming up to us (production people, musicians, cast) a year later and raving. Even our Orpheum performance didn't get this kind of continuing response.

I hope this year's show will be as entertaining for everyone!
