So, I recently got a puppy, which means lots of a) going outside and b) anxiety about said puppy getting injured.  Which leads to c) my noticing that apparently, a lot of Somerville residents like to throw glass bottles and other glass objects extremely hard at the sidewalk.

Has anybody else noticed this?  It's not like I see people actually doing this, but I was kind of taken aback by how much broken glass I see no matter where I go.

EDIT: To fulfill demand of puppy pics:

Broken glass is not a big problem for my dog. There are other problems for dogs around Somerville: the random food scattered around the trashcan at the Community Path and Willow, the TV dinners left by Light Post #31 on the path, the crazy lady who is "feeding the birds" and throws bread in front of my dog and then tries to kick him when he eats the bread, the man on Highland who yelled at my dog to get off HIS sidewalk, and others.

I think your dog is hungry. But seriously, it can't be that hard to pull back your dog from some trashy morsels on the path?
