Tomorrow is the LAST Winter Farmers' Market at the Armory

Tomorrow (Saturday, March 26) is the LAST Somerville Winter Farmers' Market at the Armory, 191 Highland Avenue. The market is open from 10 am to 2 pm.

There will be one more Winter Farmers' Market at the Mayor's Fitness Challenge on Saturday, April 2, from 10 am to 2 pm. However this will be at Somerville High School, NOT the Armory.

MassFarmersMarkets.org says that the Wednesday Davis Square outdoor market will resume on May 25, and the Saturday Union Square market on June 4.

According to info the Armory folks were distributing today at the farmer's market, they will hold something similar for a few Sundays (not Saturdays) in April: "Arts at the Armory Spring Fever Market" featuring some of the food vendors,(including produce) craftspeople, musicians and activities for children.

Specifically: April 10 and 17, then May 22 and 29. All Sundays, 10 am to 2 pm.

I really enjoyed this market over the winter. I only was able to get over there a few times, but I thought it was spectacular to

a) be able to walk there
b) see all kindsa other folks walking there
c) get fresh veg, meat, seafood and CIDER DONUTS
d) hear a live jug band and see neighbors and friends and the community

I'm thrilled to hear they will have some Spring dates too. I can't wait until my regular market (Union) opens June 4. That seems like a million years from now.
