Tuftonia’s Day Fireworks Display April 29, 2011, 9:00 PM - 9:15 PM ResQuad (Packard Avenue) Medford/Somerville Campus All residents are invited to watch the show. Rain date is May 1.
Pizza, Cupcakes, Boston Burger Company, Free Tufts givaways..and carnival rides, fireworks, and fire jugglers? Come to Fletcher Feild [sic] Friday the 29th and get a taste of all these. Event starts at 6:30 and goes till the fireworks start on the Resquad at 9. Get ready for Spring Fling and the end of classes with a relaxing day of free food and entertainment.
I assume that's all open to the public too, but I don't know for sure.
No, it's not. They check for student IDs at the entrance of Fletcher field which is fenced off for the event, but the fireworks are open to everyone on the Rez Quad.

Tuftonia's Day recognizes Tufts' birthday every year on the Medford/Somerville campus with a carnival, live performances, food, drink, and fireworks. A carnival and festival for students and alumni will begin at 6:30pm on Fletcher Field followed by fireworks on the ResQuad. ----
The next day is Spring Fling on the President's Lawn. Only students, alumni & guests can get in, but you should be able to hear the concert, with The Roots headlining, from across the street. Here's the info on that:
Tufts Concert Board is thrilled to announce this year's headlining bands for Spring Fling: The Roots and Rjd2! We're also excited to be featuring two Tufts bands. The American Symphony of Seoul, the winner of Tufts' Battle of the Bands, will be playing the set change between the headliners, and Explicit, the runner up, will be playing the opening set.
Here is the estimated performance schedule:
noon - Explicit 1 PM - Rjd2 2:15 - The American Symphony of Seoul 3:15 - The Roots
