Best place to view the north sky?

Any recommendations for reasonable places to view the sky, northward and close to the horizon?  Supposedly the aurora will be visible as far south as D.C. tonight...

The huge ejecta on June 7th was supposed to be visible tonight this far south, and as far south (as I noted) in D.C. last night. Tomorrow is, alas, much further north and not worth seeking...

Have been running full tilt, so haven't had a chance to see if it was actually so for last night, but if it was... I will try going out tonight.
