There's a new "real" bookstore in Porter Square...creatively named Porter Square Books. Between them and McIntyre, I don't think there's room for another one...
so this is what i heard from dave's pasta dude: owner of mr. crepe has some ski resorts that he manages that do well, up in either vt or nh. since they closed in the winter time, the owner decided to spend more energy on the ski resorts (makes sense.) now that it's getting nicer out, he may reinvest some energy in mr.crepe, so may find another location for it. if that happens, dave's pasta dudes will let their customers know. sounds hopeful!
Actually, Mr. Crepe *is* coming back, AFAIK - the space on the bottom floor of the Citizens' Bank building (across from Downtown Wine & Spirits), last I heard, is being split between an "upscale flatbread pizza joint" and Mr. Crepe. This was heard from one of the property-management people in that building.
On the other hand, I have no idea what'll happen to the Buck-a-Book space.
did the property management people happen to drop a name about the "upscale flatbread pizza joint?"
the reason I ask is that up in Amesbury there's a fabulous flatbread place that's a mini-chain - "Amesbury Flatbread Company." their stuff is delicious, especially their brownies and gingerbread.
it'd be awesome to have them as an option closer to home!
