Is there a car insurance person you adore in the area? I've gotten recs for the other side of the river but would love to find someone up here.

Thanks!

I've had wonderful help from Judy or Ellen at the Garrett Insurance office on
College Ave., just a few doors up from Store 24.

So what's the deal with Garrett Insurance, and Garrett-Lynch, anyway? Are they just branches of the same one, or what?

I believe they are, oddly enough, completely separate.

Garrett-Lynch, in Davis Square, on Highland Ave. And they do AAA membership discounts.

They've been incredibly helpful whenever I stopped by with any questions, and you can pay your insurance bill by dropping a check off on your way to the T stop. They're actually an agent for Commerce Insurance.

Going on the monthly plan costs some service fee, actually, unless you get it direct withdrawn. I've had that service of theirs a few years now, since they started charging the fees, and haven't had any problems.

Isn't it cheaper to go directly to an insurance agency for a quote? (though yes, this does mean calling half a dozen places to see what they say). I ended up switching my car insurance when I got a home insurance quote, 1. because of the bulk discount, and 2. it was so much less than what my agent (not Garrett) was charging. I haven't been any worse for wear by not having a brick & mortar agent to talk to when there have been insurance needs.h

Well the rates are set by the state but even then they can be different.

If you're a step 9 or 10 driver, some companies will give you a discount.

And some insurers have group discounts because of your employer or if you're a member of certain organizations.
