I start a new job on Tuesday. (Yay!) However, I was recently put on medication for arthritis, and it has the odd side effect of making my nails really soft and easily broken. My fingers look rather bad.

I'd like to get a manicure tomorrow, but I'm a tomboy and have never had one. Can anyone recommend a shop on the T for a newbie like me?

I really like Julie's Nails, right in Davis next to McKinnon's.

The square nail studio is the best place I've ever been. Go there (if you can get an appointment)!

The Square Nail is very good.

I am not a fan of Julie's because they always hurt my hands in some way. I might just be cursed, because I know others who have never had a problem.

I also have very much enjoyed the manicures I have received at Pyara in Harvard. Both Square Nail and Pyara are more expensive than Julie's, but, for me, it is worth it for a better (less painful) manicure experience.

I like Davis Sq. Nails and Spa. Been there several times getting excellent manicures each time. They do fake nails as well.
